Managing what happens in your life is just a mind game. Sure stuff happens, accidents, weather, other people… all sorts but how you react to it is your choice. It is the game you choose to play with your mind.
When you choose to be happy, choose to think of things that you can be grateful for, you do actually feel much more cheerful. You can completely change how you feel on a down day, but scraping around to think of some things that you can be grateful for.
You must have seen times when you or someone you know “knows” that you are going to fail, or are going to be bored at a social gathering you are not keen on going to. It’s a self fulfilling prophesy.. or just a mind game.
90% of what we do, think and believe is unconscious and was largely programmed by others, often by the time we were 7 years old.
You CAN change your mind… if you choose to.
I was working with someone this morning who wanted to change a habit that her mother had and was finding it hard until we had a laugh about not wanting to inherit all her mother’s habits. Clearly she chose to keep some and not others. After the laugh, she stopped resisting, relaxed and she was able to change her mind.
The mind game is all about what you choose.
Some memories are deeply embedded and may even be the result of trauma or abuse. Even these can be changed and I have a special hypnotic process to help you do this… safely and surprisingly quickly. That process transforms lives.
I have used this on myself very effectively and find it very useful for making positive health impacts. With my splintered arm (the surgeon’s description) I have been refusing to use the word pain, replacing it with discomfort, a less emotional word. This has allowed me to keep working once I got home from hospital.
More often I use it to minimise colds because I choose not to be sick for long.
Some things we cant choose of course and it will be about 3 months before I get rid of a splint and am ale to drive again.
Just remember to listen to your self-talk, reverse the negative things you often tell yourself and choose happy and positive mind games. Life becomes so much better and ask for help if you need it.
