Did you know that I am also a specilist in treating severe stress, trauma and PTSD. This is a very serious because it has a huge impact on your body and your health. What happens in prolonged stress or severe trauma is that the part of the brain that files memory, the hippocampus, gets overloaded and that stress or trauma is never filed as being over, leaving the person in a state of continual high stress.
The top graph shows how a traumatised person remains in fear, flight, freeze mode and merely bounces up and down day to day while most people remain calm and return to calm rapidly after a stressful event.
All the current leaders in the field of Trauma Psychology say: 2 things must happen:
• The body has to somehow know that ‘it’s over’.
• The unconscious mind has to regain power and control
I have been trained in The Richards Trauma Process which achieves ‘release’ from the flight, fright, freeze response and a return of the person to Calm. It also achieves a ‘regain of power and control’ for the client. Sometimes when dealing with childhood trauma this is the first time in their lives,.
Changing the underlying core beliefs / programs in the first step of the process allows the changes created to stay firmly in place and not be re-written by the all-powerful subconscious mind.
If you or someone you know is continually re-running something that is over, sometimes years before, telling them to stop doing it simply doesn’t work. It indicates that the person needs some hlp to so that they are able to know that ‘it’s over’.
This process takes 3 sessions and is remarkable in the way it heals and finishes things.
