Nicotine itself is only addictive for around 2 hours which is why patches do not really work. Patches do not address the habit even though it is often a higher dose of nicotine than most people get from their smoking and it is the habit that is addictive.
That habit of taking time out to stop and take regular deep breaths that relax your body and release the same relaxation hormones. For many people it is also the habit of putting something in your mouth regularly – it is a habit!
When you quit smoking with hypnosis you work directly with your unconscious mind to change that habit so that it is not at war with your unconscious mind.
The unconscious mind is like a small child, very direct and persistent and if you take away its favourite toy it throws a tantrum, just like a toddler in the supermarket refused a chocolate bar from the shelf. That is all cravings and withdrawal symptoms are – a tantrum.
When you quit smoking with hypnosis, your whole mind is in agreement and there is no tantrum. You walk out of my office as a relaxed non smoker.
