People often procrastinate. This may be just a habit but is more often lack of confidence or anxiety and caused by problems from their past. You can escape from this type of anxiety and transform your life.
A client came to me around a year ago to sort out procrastination. He was very capable and building a good business, but he knew it could be much better if he stopped procrastinating and did the things that he planned.
After 3 sessions he changed and since then he has grown his business, taken on staff, won a valuable award and scholarship.
Sometimes the procrastination can be complicated and really a chain of things that need to be done.
One such chain started when I moved house around 8 months ago. The removalists put some of my bigger furniture where they thought it fitted best and because some of it was very heavy it took time for me to get started. I did not have the confidence I could move some things.
Two weeks ago I bit the bullet and moved furniture in my office to where I had always wanted it. It was a huge job because, yes, my desk was super heavy and the through the window air-conditioner even heavier and it needed to sit on the end of my desk so that the vent could go out through the window. I moved a full bookcase as well.
The long and short of it is that the huge old chair that did not fit in my office is out on the front porch, I have reclaimed my favourite chair for the living room, been to Ikea and bought a new client chair and had some new power points installed where they were needed so I have power and USB ports where I sit to relax in the evening.
It’s all much more convenient now although I will confess that the second big challenge was getting the Ikea chair out of the back of the car, unpacked and assembled.
In this case, yes it was a lack of confidence in my ability to move all these things but it has been so worthwhile.
I am good at helping people to get past procrastination so if this is a problem, just come and see me.
