It is definitely time to lighten up. Our whole world has changed but thank goodness we are much better off in Australia than elsewhere in the world.
How to lighten up is a decision we each need to take, regardless whether we are locked down or not.
Humans are social creatures and distancing, and in many cases, isolation is very foreign to us increasing stress and anxiety, especially in those who have always lived with anxiety plus we have now added financial instability.
So, it is time to stop and review, decide it is time to lighten up.
How: In my case I stagger out of bed early, as usual, and make a cup of good coffee and go back to bed to review my plans for the day and look for things that make me feel happy. These may be as simple as loving my warm quilt or deciding on a breakfast I enjoy. How can I make today happy? If its sunny that is even better.
Looking for happy things is a conscious choice and we can all do it.
I have set myself a daily schedule because I was desperately missing my normal routine. That was Monday morning Yoga, Tuesday gym with my personal trainer, Wednesday business group, Thursday gym again and Friday was yoga. All gone now except my Biz group which is now on zoom not in a pub over a meal.
Now I am eagerly awaiting a rowing machine I bought online to add to a daily workout with TRX straps in my back pergola and a fit ball. It’s not working as well as having a prepaid appointment with someone, but I am working on it. The dog still requires her daily walk come rain or shine. She is a good accountability partner.
I’ve been very busy finalising a new program called Escape from Anxiety which goes further than my usual hypnotherapy treatment because it teaches you why and how, so that you have a deeper understanding of your unconscious mind and you can manage it better on an ongoing basis.
It IS time to lighten up. To look at yourself to see where your main issues are and decide on a plan that still fits in with all the social distancing rules. We need to relax and be happy. We do need to prevent boredom and loneliness.
