Ash Barty - what a beacon of sanity!

March 25, 2022
We should all take the time out to reflect on Ash Barty’s attitude to life.  She calmly focused and achieved her goals. No tantrums, no sense of entitlement, what a joy to have had her in our lives. She is so grounded and when she had finished achieving her personal goal, she was able to […]

How do you handle it?

March 17, 2022
Around three quarters of my clients come to me complaining about stress.  You and I alike all come across stress in our lives so the issue is – how do you handle it? One major cause of stress is feeling out of control. Generally we don’t like that.  This may be bullying, too much work, […]

Life can be crazy

March 10, 2022
Life can be, and often is crazy.  It certainly is at present. After the last two years of Covid we took a collective deep breath and looked forward to 2022... Humm, how did that work out?  We got massive floods in eastern Australia and now a war in Europe! Plus a lot of people we […]

There is always a reason

March 2, 2022
There is always a reason and sometimes it is a surprise. The reason I have been quiet over the last 3 months was certainly a surprise to me. I had my booster jab, Pfizer at the end of November and was badly affected. It triggered a problem with my heart, and I have spent 3 […]

Can you manage your mind?

February 16, 2022
Your unconscious mind controls 90 percent of what you think and do, but other people programmed most of this from your birth and through your childhood.  You continue this programming when you frequently repeat a thought or behaviour. That frequent repeat trains the neurones in your brain to build more connections and you make actual […]

Let's identify and get rid of imposter syndrome

February 10, 2022
The world seems a little crazy at present and many people tell me they are feeling more anxious and insecure.  Personally, I have a deep longing to reset and get going again with a more balanced and sociable life. I know I am not alone.  Others want to try something new but have deep doubts […]

It’s tidying the odd jobs time

February 3, 2022
I’m listening to my daughters busily buying yet more shoes for the start of the school year and looking at what jobs I need to do as well. It is amazing how fast kids feet grow! My list includes the usual annual immunization jabs for both the dog and the cat, the dog (a toy […]

It’s time to move on

January 27, 2022
This week we celebrated Australia Day and Aussies get back to as near normal as possible. Our favourite TV shows are starting up again, schools are getting ready to restart, families are home from the holidays.  This is our annual pattern. I’m thrilled that Dylan Alcott is Australian of the Year.  This clearly shows that […]

Well, it’s a new year...

A few months ago I was asked to do a Podcast with Kelly Jamieson of Edible Blooms.  I’ve known Kelly for many years since we both met as alumni of the Telstra Business Women’s awards. Here is a link to the podcast which turned out to be a Video and I didn’t dress for that... […]

FAQs

What is hypnosis?
It is a deeply relaxed, trance-like state where you are able to talk directly to your unconscious mind and make any changes that you want to make.
It is a wonderful state for enhanced learning. You have heightened focus.
What does hypnosis feel like?
You know that lovely half awake and half asleep state first thing in the morning. That is how you feel while in hypnosis.
Can you make me do stuff that I don’t want to do?
No. Your unconscious mind will always stop you from doing anything it considers harmful. The people you see in state hypnosis being idiots, actually like doing that. The hypnotist selects people he can see are going to cooperate and are happy to be the center of attention on stage.
Is it safe to drive home after hypnosis?
Yes. I do check you are fully awake before you go and have water you can drink if you need to. We chat for a while afterwards.
What does Escape from Anxiety involve?
I start by asking you what feelings you want to move from and what you want to move to. I also ask for a brief dot point list of traumatic things that have happened to you so that I can give you your success path or escape map. Then we do a deep relaxation and discovery of who you really are. We move on to develop a deeper understanding of why you have been hurt and controlled so that we can get rid of the harm and move on into the future that you design.
Do you get rid of the memories of trauma?
No, some things can’t be unseen and unheard, but you can let the pain go. You defeat the cause and in the process you become stronger and wiser.
How does weight-loss hypnosis work?
There are two main areas I focus on with you. The first is why you have developed the habits that caused you to put on and hold weight. This is often associated with trauma and we deal with that.
The other main focus is on changing your relationship with food and eating so that it becomes easy to choose healthy food and reject the harmful.
What about a virtual gastric band?
Some hypnotherapists use this for all weight loss clients, and I can if requested although I prefer to use a process I call “Learn to love your stomach” where you become more conscious of your stomach and its needs and size.
What about Quit Smoking? Is it really possible to quit in only one session?
Yes most people are able to quit in a single session and if you do need more help you can come back free. Over 600 people have successfully managed to quit in a single session and if you want to, you can as well.
